I know how this works for the most part, I've got up to but have not yet completed the 'rescue Tannis' mission in PT2 and I have 57 backpack slots, so I've done all the main game Claptrap rescues from PT1 and the 5 random rewards from PT2.

For the DLC's, do I have to do PT1 DLC Claptraps first, then PT2? I don't want to mess this up!

If you are worried about inventory space just use willowtree to give yourself a couple extra slots. :)

Using Inventory & Vending Machine Screens in Borderlands 2

The other main interface you'll be spending a lot of time with is your weapons and gear inventory known simply as the Inventory Screen .

The Inventory screen shows the weapons and gear you have equipped or the spare stuff you're carrying in your backpack either of which view can be brought to the foreground by clicking on the yellow arrow.

Here's an example of what you'll see in your Inventory Equipped view early in the game:

And the following is a rundown of what's going on:

Equipped Weapon Slot #1 — Available to be filled with a favorite weapon when you start the game. When you're in 'play mode', e.g., in the middle of a battle, you can hit the 1 key to automatically switch to the weapon in this slot. ( Back to screenshot )
Equipped Weapon Slot #2 — Available to be filled with a favorite weapon when you start the game. When you're in 'play mode', you can hit the 2 key to automatically switch to the weapon in this slot. ( Back to screenshot )
Equipped Weapon Slot #3 — This will remain locked until you complete the Plan B story mission (Chapter 5). Once unlocked (and in play mode), hit the 3 key to automatically equip the weapon in this slot. ( Back to screenshot )
Equipped Weapon Slot #4 — This will remain locked until you complete the Bright Lights, Flying City story mission (Chapter 10). When this is unlocked, hit the 4 key to automatically equip the weapon in this slot. ( Back to screenshot )
Shield Slot — You start seeing shields when you get to level 3. Shields soak up damage until they are depleted thus protecting your Health bar. The first shield you acquire will automatically be equipped in this slot. ( Back to screenshot )
Class Mod Slot — Class mods are special pieces of equipment that are specific to each of the character classes. When they are equipped, they provide significant bonuses such as more health, faster reload speed, more damage from sniper rifles, etc. Sometimes they also grant extra points to certain skills in the Skill tree. However to take advantage of these bonuses, you must have at least one skill point already allotted to that skill. ( Back to screenshot )
Grenade Mod Slot — Grenade mods are items that you can equip in this slot to give special properties to your thrown grenades. For example, when throwing a 'normal' grenade, it will simply land and blow up. When throwing a grenade with a Fireburst grenade mod equipped, that same grenade will now land where you threw it and then turn into a spinning flamethrower lasting for about five seconds (one of the best grenade mods, by the way). Like weapons, grenade mods can and should be frequently swapped out with different grenade mods to adjust to the situation at hand. ( Back to screenshot )
Relic Slot — Relics are similar to class mods in that they grant bonuses to your character except they are not character specific. Any character class can equip any relic. On a level per level basis, relics aren't nearly as powerful as class mods, e.g., a level 12 relic won't offer bonuses comparable to a level 12 class mod. However you will eventually run into some higher level relics that grant very useful bonuses when equipped, for example, increasing your maximum health by 40%. ( Back to screenshot )
Highlighted Weapon/Item Stat Card — This will pop up every time you hover over a weapon or item either equipped or in the backpack. It gives you detailed statistics and information on that weapon or item allowing you evaluate its capabilities. ( Back to screenshot )
Ammo Box — This is all the ammunition you currently have in your possession. Note that you do not actually have to have a particular weapon type in your possession in order to stockpile ammo for it. The top number for each ammo type is how much ammo you currently have while the bottom number is the maximum amount you are currently allowed to carry for that ammo type. The maximum capacity for each ammo type can be increased by purchasing Storage Deck Upgrades (SDUs) from Crazy Earl in Sanctuary using Eridium as currency (more on this later in the walkthrough). Cash on Hand — This is how much cash you currently have in your possession. You get cash from looting containers around the gamescape, picking up enemy kill drops, selling spare weapons and items and completing missions. If you play well, you could finish the game with over 0,000 to spare! So don't be afraid to spend money right from the get-go. ( Back to screenshot )
Eridium Supply — This is how much Eridium you have on hand. Eridium is a special kind of purple mineral that you'll collect throughout your travels in Borderlands 2. You'll either find it randomly in loot containers (particularly cash boxes) or you'll earn it as a reward for completing some missions. The only use for Eridium is to purchase upgrades from Crazy Earl in Sanctuary which can increase weapon type ammo capacities, the size of your backpack and the size of other storage spaces that will become available later in the game. Backpack — Aside from your equipped weapons and items, you also have a backpack in which you can carry spare stuff. It is important to have spare weapons and items that you can swap out for your currently equipped items in order to deal with different kinds of threats. The backpack is also useful for stockpiling loot (weapons and items you find while playing) to eventually carry back to the nearest vending machine and sell for cash. Most of your cash flow will come from looting and selling stuff you find. You start the game out with 12 spare slots in your backpack. This can be increased to 27 spare slots by purchasing upgrades from Crazy Earl in Sanctuary. ( Back to screenshot )

Joined: Aug 7, 2012 Messages: 16 Date Posted: Sep 24, 2012 #1 Advertisement So I am sure that Im not the only one that blows copious amounts of money at the slot machines (i.e. Sanctuary in Moxxi's Bar). However in all my joyous spending I have never once scored all 3 borderlands symbols. Is this even possible? Has anyone done it? If so then what do you get for it?? Ive gotten just about every other combo except for that. Marcus and the Moxxi leg being the best of course. Haha. Let me know what you guys have seen. I think that you can only get the borderlands symbols from killing a one arm bandit and using the slot machine on his back. On a related note, I found a table listing the program odds of winning at the slot machines. Triple eridium was (from memory, so this may not be quite correct) 0.23% and triple orange was 0.018%, both of which count for the Jackpot Sanctuary challenge. That means you'd have to play well over a thousand times to guarantee that at least 1 spin resulted in the jackpot. I probably manage 10-20 spins before I get bored in any one session, so it's no surprise that I have the Jackpot challenge on only one of my characters! So i found a strange Slot Machine glitch

I'm sorry for such a long story, i felt it'd be best to describe what happened as much as i could, has anyone else encountered this? Both me and my friend have thousands of hours on the game and have never seen this happen.

Either it's a glitch I never heard of (or it's a common glitch that I still have yet to hear about).

But when u just started the characters as u say and just made it to sanctuary where did u have the money from to play like a million times bc usually u arrive sanctuary with like no cash in the first play trough?

We're playing on Normal and with a friend, it's really not hard to not get killed, so we both had around 3k by the time we got to Sanctuary finally. We've also been doing every single side quest along the way.

Does anyone know what glitches or tricks that still work after all the patches? IE: gun merging, skill up glitch. Is there a list out there of things like that that are still valid?

Thanks, I've been watching a lot of videos and I've tried my hand at save editing which I think holds the most promise for me right now. Though I'm now looking for videos on that and guides on how to get the most out of it, like what's the $ limit, eridium limit and so on

Easy and early Eridium (max out your backpack ASAP!)

Once you reach Sanctuary (shortly after completing the Prologue), you can gamble on two slot machines at Mad Moxxi’s bar.

The further you are in the game, the more expensive it is to pull the levers. But the items you may randomly win also scale with your level. And it’s the Eridium you want early on, and if you used the cash or item duping tricks above to get a fat wallet, you can play the slots until your heart explodes.

The slots have three different Eridium payouts, and once you have enough, you can take them to the shady Black Market dealer a few steps away from Moxxi’s and upgrade your ammo capacity or backpack slots.

I highly recommend maxing out your backpack slots first, as this will allow you to carry much more loot. Nothing’s worse than finding lots of chests on a mission or killing a boss and not being able to pick anything up, even if you plan to sell it all (which you will — 95 percent of random drops are worse than your current inventory, in my experience).

For reference, I maxed my backpack before anything else while my friend did not, and I finished the game with a legitimate 0,000 and he only had ,000. That was all from selling loot I picked up while doing missions.

Black Market expansions get increasingly more expensive:

Level 1: 4 Eridium
Level 2: 8 Eridium
Level 3: 12 Eridium
Level 4: 16 Eridium
Level MAX: 20 Eridium

BONUS: If you purchase 20 upgrades using Eridium, you’ll max out the “Whaddaya Buyin?” challenge for another 166 Badass Rank.

You need to have done the mine cart quest and you can nab 4 chests in 5 minutes. I've gotten some sweet gear and alot if crap, but you can easily make a couple mil in about 5 runs.

I've gotten some sweet gear and alot if crap, but you can easily make a couple mil in about 5 runs.My main source of making money is from the Gearys Unbreakable Gear quest, although it takes MUCH longer with the new patch because you can no longer use vehicles. I have a certain way of doing it so I make roughly 0,000 every run. Caustic Caverns would be a decent loot run but there is always a risk of dying with the amount of enemies around (especially because I play solo) so I tend to steer clear of there. overlordlaharl134 Keep trying!! I still need to finish tallying the average ROI to get an exact number though. Just keep at it and it would be helpful if you post how much money it does take you. The quickest way to get money is probably farming the BNK3R...just make sure you have a lot of open backpack slots before you farm him. (10 or more open slots would be ideal)
